Gentle Now: Writing into Summer. A poetry writing class

June 7, 2021 @ 11:30 am - July 19, 2021 @ 1:00 pm

$190 – $225

This is a virtual class held via Zoom.

This poetry writing class, suitable for beginning and experienced writers, will take inspiration from the natural world. We will write, in other words, about our relationship to our worlds, and our responsibilities to each other. For example, we will read Juliana’s Spahr’s long poem [listen] “Gentle Now, Don’t Add to Heartache.”   And we will read works of contemporary poets, and share selected visual art in the Delaware Art Museum’s collection. Participants will engage the natural world to explore their inner lives.

Gentle Now: Writing into Summer MONDAY June 7 – July 19, 11:30 am – 1 pm EDT • Zoom (no class July 5)

As we emerge from this past year of hibernation, revelation, praise, growth and loss, it’s important to find new language to share our stories. That’s what poetry’s good at. Students will write together each week.
