JoAnn Balingit is Delaware’s 16th poet laureate and state poetry ambassador. She reads her work and teaches poetry around the state to young people and adults in libraries and schools, at festivals, conferences and colleges.  She hosts visiting poets and writes about poetry.  She leads workshops for teachers, sharing her love of poetry and ways to get K12 students excited about writing. She advocates for Delaware’s writers. She believes poetry and the arts are crucial in education.
